McGuireWoods advised Chinook Investment Partners, a Colorado-based equity capital partner led by co-founders and managing partners Michael King and Ronan McIntosh, on its growth investment in PractiVet, a leading branded supplier of veterinary infusion devices and IV consumables serving the animal health ecosystem across the United States. The transaction closed April 29, 2026.
Chinook’s investment will enable PractiVet to pursue its strategic vision to become the leading supplier of veterinary infusion and critical care medical solutions. PractiVet will continue to operate under its existing brand and leadership in partnership with Chinook and seasoned veterinary industry experts and advisors. Chinook and the PractiVet leadership team expect to accelerate PractiVet’s product innovation, strategic channel expansion, and selective investment opportunities within the animal health sector, while preserving PractiVet’s commitment to reliability, customer service, and clinical excellence.
Partners Caroline Grier Kraich, Trey Andrews, Casey Nelson, and associate Kristen Chang led the McGuireWoods team advising Chinook. In addition, Jon Neal and L.G. Mezher provided tax counsel; Sam Souza provided employee benefits counsel; Dawn Stetter provided labor and employment counsel; Stephanie Martinez provided intellectual property and data privacy counsel; Samantha Wolf provided corporate counsel; Donny Kwasigroch provided debt finance counsel; and Vindy Murthy provided regulatory counsel.
“McGuireWoods values its longstanding relationship with Chinook and our team was extremely honored to counsel Chinook from start to close,” Kraich said. “This transaction is a testament to the profound, enduring partnerships Michael and Ronan build and a prelude to Chinook’s future. My colleagues and I could not be prouder to represent Chinook as it joins with PractiVet and begins this exciting chapter.”
