Meredith represents major employers throughout the country in a host of industries, including banking and finance, manufacturing, food and beverage, retail, and healthcare. She applies a practical, business-oriented approach to addressing her clients’ legal challenges. Meredith represents clients in all aspects of employment-related litigation, including discrimination, ERISA, and non-competition litigation, and advises clients on a wide range of employment issues.

A skilled litigator, Meredith has experience defending clients in a wide variety of employment discrimination, whistleblower, and wage and hour matters in federal and state courts, as well as before federal and state administrative agencies. Meredith also has significant experience representing employers in arbitrations before FINRA, as well as ERISA pension and welfare plans and plan sponsors in pension and disability claims, including class actions.

In addition to her robust litigation practice, Meredith devotes much of her time to conducting sensitive and complex internal investigations, including for employers in the most regulated of industries.

Meredith frequently advises clients on the full spectrum of employment topics, from compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination and harassment, to wage and hour, and workplace safety laws.  Meredith works closely with her clients to navigate sensitive and complex employee mobility matters, including advising on and preparing non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements.  Meredith also routinely assists clients in preparing employment agreements, handbooks and policies, and advises clients during restructuring efforts and reductions in force.

Meredith serves as regional chair of McGuireWoods’ Charlotte Women Lawyers Network, whose mission is to promote the retention and elevation of women lawyers through mentoring, networking and professional development opportunities.

Meredith is an active member of the Charlotte community, serving on various boards and committees and furthering McGuireWoods’ commitment to service through pro bono work and community service.
