McGuireWoods Elects 12 Lawyers for Partnership

McGuireWoods elected 12 new partners effective Jan. 1, 2021. The new class spans eight of the firm’s U.S. offices and McGuireWoods London and covers 12 litigation and corporate practice areas.

  • Thomas E. Booms (Debt Finance, Charlotte) represents commercial and investment banks, financial sponsors and other financial institutions in syndicated credit facilities, including multicurrency and cross-border facilities, acquisition financings and other leveraged financings.
  • Lawrence J. Cameron (Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation, Raleigh) represents corporate and individual clients in government and internal investigations, civil litigation, regulatory enforcement matters and white collar criminal defense. He is a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
  • Jake A. Cilek (Healthcare, Chicago) represents dialysis and nephrology providers, dialysis vascular access centers, office-based laboratories, physician-owned hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, physician group practices and other healthcare providers in structuring mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, accountable care and capitated care arrangements and syndications implicating regulatory compliance issues.
  • Katlyn A. Davis Farrell (Regulatory & Compliance, Washington, D.C.) represents energy and utility clients on matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation and appellate courts. She handles rate and regional transmission organization issues including tariffs, cost allocation and market design.
  • Callum Hassall (Real Estate & Land Use, London) advises on commercial real estate transactions, with an emphasis on representing leading developers and providers of senior care, retirement living and student accommodation. He also has extensive experience in the real estate aspects of corporate investments and banking transactions.
  • J. Berkeley Horne (M&A and Corporate Transactions, Richmond) focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, mezzanine and asset-based lending, and securities issuances.
  • Barlow T. Mann (Securities & Capital Markets, Charlotte) represents public and private companies in securities transactions and corporate matters, including initial public offerings and secondary offerings of debt and equity securities. He also advises clients in connection with SEC reporting and governance issues.
  • Steven G. Popps (Business & Securities Litigation, Richmond) represents businesses and executives in complex, high-stakes disputes. He also advises clients in government investigations, fiduciary litigation and receivership actions.
  • Emily Y. Rottmann (Complex Commercial Litigation, Jacksonville) focuses on real estate and financial services litigation. She represents clients in class litigation throughout the country, primarily defending against consumer claims.
  • Adam T. Simons (Labor & Employment, Baltimore) focuses on management-side employment and business litigation. He represents Fortune 100 companies as well as closely held businesses, including financial institutions, defense contractors, manufacturers, hospitality providers, retailers and energy companies.
  • Davis M. Walsh (Products, Environmental & Mass Tort Litigation, Richmond) represents public and private companies, predominantly in the life sciences, medical device and transportation sectors, in litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Jamie D. Wells (Antitrust, Trade & Commercial Litigation, San Francisco) represents financial institutions and fintech companies in individual and class actions involving state and federal claims relating to debt collection, unfair business practices, credit reporting, fair lending, repossession and servicing. She also represents institutional trustees in litigation involving claims for breach of fiduciary duty and other trust litigation.
