For more than 20 years, Penny has represented lenders and borrowers in debt finance and secured transactions — ranging from billion-dollar deals to microfinance transactions — while serving as a law firm and business community leader.

Penny, managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Pittsburgh office, guides financial institutions, private credit providers, public and private borrowers, private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in asset-based lending, leveraged finance, mezzanine finance and other commercial lending transactions. She handles the structuring and documenting of large, syndicated transactions and advises domestic and international banking clients and investment firms on microfinance and impact investing.

Her deals fund strategic goals for lenders and companies across economic sectors, including healthcare, energy, chemical, retail, food, aerospace, logistics and security alarm.

Penny serves on the firm’s board of partners, the Pittsburgh recruiting committee and the corporate responsibility executive committee. She also co-chairs McGuireWoods’ Women in Private Equity & Finance initiative, which connects professionals around the country to business opportunities.
