McGuireWoods Elects 15 Lawyers to 2026 Partnership Class

McGuireWoods elected 15 new partners effective Jan. 1, 2026. The class spans many of the firm’s offices and covers a range of practice areas.

Chris Alderman (Mergers & Acquisitions & Energy Transactional, Richmond) advises utilities, project sponsors, investors, and lenders in the development and financing of domestic and international energy and infrastructure projects.

Laughlin Allen (Financial Services & Securities Enforcement, Atlanta) assists individual and corporate clients in a variety of securities, financial services and other business litigation matters.

Paul Chappell (Labor & Employment, Dallas) focuses on high-stakes litigation, counseling on a variety of employment matters, and reviewing and negotiating executive level employment contracts. 

Adam Coto (Debt Finance, Charlotte) represents financial institutions and borrowers in a variety of corporate lending transactions, specializing in structuring and documenting syndicated and bilateral credit facilities for clients in the investment grade and sports sectors.

Janelle Darnell (Tax & Employee Benefits, Chicago) advises on transactional tax matters, including mergers, joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings, with a focus on taxable and tax-free reorganizations, spin-offs, liquidations and redemptions, and cross-border restructurings.

Arrion Dennis (Mergers & Acquisitions & Energy Transactional, Richmond) advises closely held businesses, private equity groups, and public companies in asset and equity acquisitions and sales.

Erin Dine (Healthcare, Chicago) advises clients on transactional, regulatory, compliance and corporate matters. She primarily counsels private equity funds and healthcare clients, including medical practices, ambulatory surgery centers and hospitals. 

Alexia Faraguna (Tax & Employee Benefits, Charlotte) counsels clients on compliance matters concerning health and welfare benefits, fringe benefits, qualified retirement plans and executive compensation.

Corinne Hockman (Commercial Litigation, Raleigh) focuses on patent, intellectual property and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on technology-based disputes. She represents clients across industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, telecommunications, mobile devices, consumer products, and oil and gas.

Timothy Malloy (Mergers & Acquisitions & Energy Transactional, Charlotte) focuses on complex business transactions including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, joint ventures and other general corporate counseling across industries including manufacturing, financial institutions and healthcare.

Allyson Maur (Healthcare, New York) advises life sciences and healthcare clients on regulatory issues affecting diagnostics developers, biopharma manufacturers and clinical laboratories. Her work ranges from clinical bioethics and informed consent issues to counseling on compliance with federal fraud, waste and abuse laws.

Casey Nelson (Debt Finance, Chicago) concentrates on middle-market finance transactions, with a focus on senior secured acquisition financings. Her experience includes syndicated and secured senior financings, acquisition financing, ABL finance, real estate finance and franchise finance. 

Alexis Reynolds (Healthcare, Houston) advises clients on transactional matters, mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and healthcare regulatory compliance matters. She represents clients in the provider-based space, as well as healthcare sponsors and lenders.

Anne Curtis Saunders (Public & Private Infrastructure & Real Estate, Richmond) focuses on the areas of public finance, federal and state taxation, and municipal securities, serving as bond counsel, borrower’s counsel, underwriter’s counsel or issuer’s counsel in tax-exempt and taxable bond financings.

Joshua Wade (Government Investigations & White Collar, Richmond) focuses on antitrust law, government investigations and complex commercial litigation. He counsels clients through the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice’s merger review processes and represents clients in investigations by DOJ and foreign regulators.
