A national leader in healthcare M&A, private equity and finance transactions, Holly chairs McGuireWoods’ Healthcare Department, one of the largest healthcare practices in the United States.

PE funds and healthcare clients — including hospitals, health systems, medical practices, physician-owned hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, among others — rely on her for structuring transactions, regulatory due diligence, affiliation agreements and compliance matters.

Holly counsels clients on general corporate matters, anti-kickback and Stark issues, self-referral, corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting prohibitions, and licensure requirements. She assists clients with revising, developing and implementing compliance plans, such as guiding providers on HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and the HITECH Act. She also handles legal issues related to electronic medical records and negotiation of electronic medical record agreements.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Holly was a client executive at Cerner Corporation where she worked within the client service organization and was assigned to several key customers including two large academic medical centers. She assisted customers with developing implementation strategies and served as a liaison between Cerner’s engineering, intellectual property and clinical teams and the customer.

Holly co-chairs McGuireWoods’ innovative Healthcare Private Equity and Finance Conference, one of the largest industry events un the United States. She is an in-demand author and speaker — JD Supra recognized her as a top author on mergers and acquisitions topics — and Chambers USA and Legal 500 United States rank her among the top healthcare lawyers.

While earning her law degree from Loyola University, Holly received the Chicago Women’s Bar Foundation General Academic Scholarship as well as the Joe K. Tse Scholarship in Health Law. She was also honored as a Bernard Conway Health Law Scholar and served as president of the Loyola University School of Law Health Law Society.
